ElliGrey Style

Ever since Jonathan surprised me with a sewing machine in December I've been getting to know that thing. I've made gifts and plenty of clothes for Weston and Elliott. I've even done some clothes for me! I really have been enjoying the challenge and trying new things all the time.
With some encouragement from my friends I decided to make a few pieces and list them on Etsy. Check out my new shop, Elli Grey Style.

Eclipse

Fabric.com had the best deal on the blackout fabric and then I picked a "pretty" fabric to sew it to for the panels. Jonathan had made the cornice for the top before she was born. Everything went pretty smoothly and once I got them finished I couldn't wait to see how dark her room would really be! Holy moly you don't know what time of day it is once you pull those puppies shut. Thank goodness for that! Here's to many wonderful naps from here on out.

Sew Fun!

I've been learning how to use my Christmas present Jonathan surprised me with in my craft closet last year. My very first "project" was corn hole bags and then I made curtain panels for my bathroom. I just finished my fourth outfit for Elli Grey using a pattern. The pattern thing was extremely tricky for me the first time around. I am a beginner but desperately wanted to figure it out! With my smart hubby's help I was able to pull it off. ;)
Starting out with very simple patterns so that I have a snowball's chance. I have signed up for a sewing class that starts next week so I can learn from an expert and fill in all the gaps. :) It's a lot of fun. Here are pictures of two of the outfits.

Very first go at it:
